About Consumer Review Desk

Consumer Review Desk exists because most product pages selling you something are written by the people who benefit if you buy it. We look at the same wellness gadgets, footwear, and "as seen online" products, and try to say plainly what's reasonable to expect and what's just persuasive copywriting.

What we do

Each review pulls together manufacturer specifications, publicly available information about the product and its category, and a look at what buyers actually report — then weighs that against general, established research on how that type of product tends to perform. We're a small, independent operation, not a testing lab with a warehouse full of products. We don't claim otherwise.

How we make decisions about what to feature

We choose products that are genuinely available for purchase and that fit categories readers are actively searching for. We're upfront that we earn a commission on some of the links on this site — see our advertising disclosure for the full picture. That relationship doesn't change what we write; if a product's marketing overstates what it can do, we say so.
